Theme of the Week: “The Circus”
Week of August 3th – August 7th

Hola Abejitas Parents!

It’s time to have fun at the Circus. This will be a very special time for us as teachers in which we dress as clowns and play with the children in our special circus. We will dance, sing songs, and have other activities that our little ones will love. Please don’t forget to read our “Activities” section so that our Abejitas don’t miss anything! Mom and Dad could help at home by reading about, and showing some pictures to their children regarding this theme.

Special activities of the week:
Wednesday August 5th - We will have fun playing and painting our little faces. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask us about it. (We will be using non-toxic paint)
Friday 7th – We will have a fantastic day. The Circus is here at Sff! It will be very fun.

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will continue collecting cones of paper towels of different sizes, and plastic containers as a wipes container for our activities. Please bring as many as you can. Be on the lookout next week for what we will be recycling!

Splash Days!
On Monday, August 3th, in the morning, please send your child wearing their swim suit and sun screen. Wednesday, August 7th in the afternoon, we will dress them.

Important Upcoming Dates:
August 12th: Meet and Greet with Parents at 6.30 pm.
August 13th: Sff! Annual Trike-a-Thon.
August 14th: Last day of Summer Camp. Early release at 12.30 pm.
August 17th: Teacher’s work day. School is CLOSED.
August 18th: First day of school year 2015-2016.

Week of July 27th-31st

Theme of the Week: “Knights and Princesses”
Week of July 27th – July 31st

Dear Parents,
This week our Abejitas will start a new theme, “The Knights and The Princess”. We will enjoy reading stories, singing songs, and showing pictures during circle time to learn more about our theme of the week. Please don’t forget to read our “Activities” section so that our Abejitas don’t miss anything! Mom and Dad could help at home by reading small stories with them that follow this theme.

Special activities of the week:
Wednesday July 29th - Please bring in any knight or princess toys for your child that you may have at home.

Friday 31st We will have our “Party at the Castle.” Children should come dressed as knights and princesses for our parade. They will be walking on a red carpet as the teacher describes the clothing. Finally we will follow a classical dance using different musical rhythms in the kingdom. Our Abejitas will love it.

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will be collecting lids of different sizes of fabric scraps for our activities. Please bring as many as you can. Be on the lookout next week for what we will be recycling!

Splash Days!
On Monday, July 27h, in the morning, please send your child wearing their swim suit and sun screen. Wednesday, July 31st, in the afternoon, we will dress them.

Please make sure you bring the following items:

·         Extra summer clothes
·         Diapers and splash diapers
·         Wipes
·         Hat
·         Cream sunscreen, no spray (with authorization form)
·         Swim suit (only on splash days, starting the first week of July)
·         Small towel
·         Insect repellent (optional- with authorization form)
·         Swimming shoes

Also, please make sure your bottles, lotions, or creams come with a form filled out and signed by you, indicating amount to be applied, areas to be protected, areas to be avoided, and specific times they are to be used.

AEROSOLS will NOT be accepted. Gracias!

Theme of the week: “The Dinosaurs”
Week of July 20th – July 24th

Dear Abejitas Parents,
Hello! We hope you had a wonderful week.
This upcoming week we are going to learn about “Dinosaurs”. We will show pictures of the dinosaurs to our children during circle time. We will also sing songs and roar like dinosaurs. 

Mom and Dad could help by bringing in dinosaur books or toys to share with the classroom.  (Please label every item with your child’s name and leave it in their cubby).

Special activities of the week:
 
Monday July 20th - We will have fun playing with our own dinosaur toys.
This will be fun!

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will be collecting cones of paper towels and toothpaste boxes for our activities. Please bring as many as you can. Be on the lookout next week for what we will be recycling!

Week of July 13th - 17!!

Theme of the Week: “The Zoo”

Dear Abejitas Parents,
Fun is around every corner at Sff! Last week, our Abejitas enjoyed splash day. This week we will continue teaching our bees with a fun new theme "The Zoo".
We have many wonderful activities planned and would like to kindly remind you to be attentive to our list of activities for this week.  This way, our children will not miss out on any of these activities. We will also make our animal festival masks and hats - our little ones will love it. Mom and dad could help at home by reading stories to them or playing with small stuffed animals that allow them to explore different textures.

Special activities of the week:
Monday July 13th - We will have fun playing with zoo animal toys. Please bring in any stuffed animals you may have for your child.
Tuesday July 14th - We will create our animal hats for our festival.
Friday 17th – We will have our “Animal Festival” using both, masks and hats. This will be fun!

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will be collecting large boxes and tissue boxes for our activities. Please bring as many as you can. Be on the lookout next week for what we will be recycling!

Week of July 6th-10th

Theme of the week: “The Aquatic World”

Hola Abejitas Parents,
It is a pleasure for us to teach our little ones in a very fun way! For this reason, it is very important to read our “Activities” section so that our Abejitas don’t miss anything! The fun continues this week with a new topic: “The Aquatic World”. Our children will learn about the sea and the animals that live there. They will also have fun with water games, singalongs, and story-telling. At home, Mom and Dad can help by sharing photographs of trips to the beach or water parks and talking about that experience.

Special activities of the week:
Monday July 6th - We will have fun playing with sea-animal toys. If you have any at home, please feel free to bring them in.
Wednesday July 8th – We will have “Sea Themed Yoga” Our children will imitate the movements of some sea animals.
Thursday July 9th - We will observe sea animals in the hall.
Friday 10th – We will have a “Party under the Sea” We invite our children to come to school dressed for the occasion. Some examples of appropriate costumes include: mermaid, sailor, pirate, or a sea animal.

Birthdays/CumpleaƱos
We want to wish a happy Birthday to Adrian Sneed(July 8th) and  Memphis Shellenberger (July 10th).

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will be collecting big boxes for our activities. Please bring in as many as you can. Be on the lookout for what we will be recycling next week!

Splash Days!
We are very excited for our SPLASH DAYS and we know our children are too! Our splash days, starting next week, are Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoon. On Monday, July 6th in the morning, make sure to bring your child wearing their swim suit, and please apply sun screen. On Wednesdays in the afternoon, we will dress them.

Please make sure you bring the following items with your child to the first day of summer camp:

·                   Extra summer clothes
·                   Diapers and splash diapers
·                   Wipes
·                   Hat
·                   Cream sunscreen, no spray (with authorization form)

Week of June 29th- July 3rd

Theme of the week: “Celebrating Independence Day”

Dear Abejitas Parents,
We hope you have a great week. Our Abejitas enjoyed last week’s activities, our pretend bonfire, the picnic, and camping day! It has been a wonderful summer camp at Sff!

Our theme for this week is: “Celebrando el dia de la Independencia” / “Celebrating Independence Day”. We have planned many activities to celebrate this day, including: crazy hair day, a parade, and pretend fireworks. We know that our Abejitas will love this!

Please don’t forget to read our “Activities” section so that our Abejitas don’t miss anything! Mom and Dad could help at home by reading with them about this theme and show them pictures associated with Independence Day.
Special activities of the week:
Monday June 29th - We will have fun creating our hat to celebrate our Independence Day.
Tuesday July 30th - We will have a delicious picnic. Please bring your child's favorite fruit on that day.

Wednesday July 1st - Will be Crazy hair Day! Use your imagination and give your child a Crazy hair style that will stand out from the rest!

Thursday July 2nd - We will celebrate our Independence Day! Please send your child with clothes in reference to the Independence Day (red, white, and blue).  Sff! will have

“The Parade of Independence” during which the whole school will meet to hear the National Anthem. We will also have other music and pretend fireworks.

Friday July 3th Sff! will be closed for Independence Day.

Week of June 22nd-26th

Theme of the week: “We are going camping.”

Hola Abejitas parents,
We had so much fun this past week! Our Abejitas enjoyed our various activities each day, and summer arrived! It’s wonderful at Sff! Our theme for this week is: “Nos vamos de Campamento” / “We are going camping”. We have many activities planned for this week, so please make sure to read our “Activities” section to make sure your child doesn’t miss anything!  Mom and Dad could help at home by talking to your child about summer weather and enjoying every moment!

Welcome:
We would like to give a warm welcome to Camila. Welcome to Abejitas Class!

Bienvenida Camila!

 Special activities of the week:
·         Monday 22nd: We are explorers. We will pretend to explore with a canteen and binoculars.
·         Tuesday 23th: We will pretend to make a fire with paper rolls. We will sing songs and dance around it!
·         Wednesday 24th: We will have a delicious picnic and will enjoy the aromas of nature and the food. We will also see and feel the texture of different real fruits.
.         Thursday 25th:  We will walk outside and listen to the sounds of nature.
·         Friday 26th: Pajama day. Please bring your child to school wearing their favorite pajamas. To make this day even more fun; we are going camping! We will pretend to sleep outside.
